Phewww! My jewelry temp job is ending this Friday and I just got a new, permanent full-time gig as a prep cook at a swanky new downtown Japanese vegetarian restaurant. Well, as "permanent" as a new restaurant in SF can be, but I'm hoping to not have to change jobs again too soon unless I get the super-art/engraving job with health insurance and vacation time shebang. At least I'll be able to pay my bills and stop worrying how Im gonna be able to feed myself for a while. The folks at the restaurant seem cool enough. We're beginning training on the 1st and the restaurant opens on the 5th. Not a lot of time to familiarize-I'm sure it'll be utter chaos for a few weeks, but I'm ready and happy I have a place to work at for 8 hours a day. I'm so glad I introduced myself to both the chefs in Japanese....

I'd love a job in the kitchen of a Japanese vegetarian restaurant. Actually any vegetarian restaurant and learn their recipes and techniques.
I hope you will like your new job.

BTW I love that icon.

I know, I'm stoked, especially considering my original application was for a busser! But I have some kitchen experience and am a great cook myself so I had the mind to put that on my resume, thank goodness! Although I'm not a vegetarian myself, plenty of my friends are and I cook for them a lot, and for myself as well. This place will be artisan, too, tofu made on the premises and shit. I'm excited to learn all this made-from-scratch-stuff because that's how I like to cook at home.
